Trying to conceive
on: October 2, 2012, 09:43

I've always been overweight and was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I'm taking t3 and metformin. I haven't had a period since 2010. I was low-carb from Oct. 2011 to May 2012, but I got rail-thin. I was told I have HA, and that if I wanted to get pregnant, I would need to gain 15-20 pounds and should do that by increasing carbs. All that got me was fat, addicted to sugars and carbs, binging and the return of cystic acne. I'm thinking about going back to low-to-no carb, but this time not restricting calories like I did before. I think I kept staying in weight loss mode by cutting calories even after I should have just stopped and maintained my weight.

Anybody have experience with PCOS and getting pregnant? I would really like to conceive without medical interventions. What should I be eating? What should I be avoiding? How often should I eat? Is fasting (even eating 2 meals/day like I was) too stressful?
