Raw food in toddlers
on: September 1, 2011, 03:23

So I am curious ever since you posted the squid video, Peggy. And I'm hoping others have ideas.

In order to get my DD to not fill up on liquids in the morning since she is so thirsty and hungry I've been making her a smoothie recently. I use greek yogurt for a milk alternative, calcium dose, and a good protein boost. And I'm going to experiment with different veggie/fruit blends. But what I've been curious about is adding a raw egg in there (probably two because the batches I make are good for two days worth). Mostly I want to see if this is okay because she often will fill up on the smoothie itself (which is better than filling up on just milk IMO) and barely eat anything else.

Has anyone had experience giving young young children raw food (my DD just turned one this month)? What should I watch out for? Is it recommended?

Day 1: 9/6/11
Taking it day by day and one meal/craving at a time
